# Byline Schema

You will rarely need this page.

A byline is a "written by" credit. This screen sets what is kept about each
one: a job title, say, or a set of pronouns.

**Your website shows no bylines at all**, so nothing here reaches a visitor.
[Bylines](/manage/bylines/) explains why. Go to **Admin**, then **Byline
Schema**, and the list is empty. That is correct, and it can stay that way.

:::caution[Warning]
Adding a field here puts a new box on every byline. It shows a visitor nothing,
because your pages carry your business name rather than a person's name.

Taking a field away throws out whatever was typed in it, on every byline, at
once. Nothing on this screen puts that back.

Contact us if you want a person credited somewhere on your website, such as a
staff page with names and photos.

That is a change to how your site is built. Tell us who should be named and on
which page, and we will do it properly.
