# Categories

You will rarely need this page.

In EmDash, Categories is where you sort content into groups, the way a blog
sorts posts into topics.

**Nothing on your website uses categories.** None of your entries has a
category box on it, so there is nothing to sort and nothing to sort it into.

Go to **Manage**, then **Categories**, and this is what you get.

You can add a category here. It will sit on this screen with a count of zero
next to it, because no entry can be put in it, and it will never appear on your
website.

There is nothing to do here.

Your services already have an order you control, set by the **Sort order** box
on each one. [Services](/content/services/) covers it.

Contact us if you want your services or photos grouped into sets on your
website. That is a change to how your site is built, not something this screen
can do.
