Plugins

A plugin is one extra feature built into your website. Your inquiry inbox is one. Your photo folders are another.

This screen lists the ones fitted to your site. Every row has a switch, and that switch is the whole point of the screen. It turns the feature on or off.

We chose this list for you and switched it on. It is right as it stands.

Go to Admin, then Plugins.

One row is one feature. A blue switch means it is on.

1. The name. Plugins are listed by a short code name, not by the name in your menu. site-theme sets your colors. contact-form runs your inquiry form. gallery runs your photo albums. The number beside each one is its version.

2. The gear. Some rows have one. It opens that feature’s own settings. The next section uses this gear.

3. The switch. Blue is on. Gray is off. Read the warning below first.

The arrow at the end of a row opens a panel of detail about that plugin. It is safe to read.

Warning

A switch takes effect on your live website at once. There is no Save and no Publish. Nothing asks you if you are sure.

Switch contact-form off and the form on your Contact page stops working. No inquiry can reach you. Nothing new lands in Leads, and no email goes out. Your website still looks fine, so you would not know until a customer said something.

Every other row does the same to its own feature. Leave the switches alone.

Contact support

Contact us before you switch anything off here. Contact us right away if something has already been switched off.

Tell us the name on the row and roughly when. Switching it back on is quick. The inquiries people tried to send while it was off are gone, and nothing can bring those back.

Changing your colors

This is the one job on this screen you can do yourself. It sets the colors of your whole website.

Warning

New colors reach every page of your website at once.

Most of your site follows the new colors on its own. Parts we styled by hand for you may not. A button or a panel can end up hard to read.

Look at your own pages after the change. If something looks wrong, contact us and we will fix it.

Here are the steps.

1. Go to Admin, then Plugins.
2. Find the row named site-theme.
3. Click the gear icon at the end of that row. It is number 2 in the picture above.
4. Click the Colour palette box and pick a palette from the list.
5. Click Save Settings.

A message tells you the settings were saved. Now click View Site at the top right. The new colors are already on your website.

Each palette has a name, and after the name the two colors it leans on. Ember Trail is orange and amber. Pine Hollow is green and teal. There are seventeen to choose from. Step 3: Choose your colors shows every one of them in light and in dark, so you can pick by looking.

Under the palette is Colour mode. It has two choices. Light gives you dark words on a pale background, and Dark does the reverse. Every visitor gets the one you pick. There is no switch on your website for them to change it.

A palette brings more than color with it. Look at the two buttons. Square corners in one picture, rounded in the other. That comes with the palette, and you cannot have one without the other.

Tip

Nothing here is permanent. Write down the name you are on now, before you try anything.

To go back, pick that palette again and click Save Settings. Your website returns to exactly what it was.
