Plugins
Bio Page
One page of links for your social profiles.
Add-on
Bio Page is an add-on, so not every website has it. If it is not in your menu, see Add-ons to add it.
Most social apps give you one link in your profile. Just one. Bio Page is a page built for that link to point at.
It is one tall column. A logo, a wide photo, a bit of text, your phone number, a stack of link cards, social icons, and a sign-up box for your mailing list. You choose which of those you want, and what order they come in.
Go to Plugins, open the Marketing group, and click Bio Page.
The two addresses
Your bio page sits at https://yoursite.com/bio. That works today, with no
setup at all.
It can also have a short address of its own, bio.yourdomain.com. A visitor
who types it lands on your bio page at https://bio.yourdomain.com/bio. That
one needs us.
Contact support
Ask us if you want the short bio. address. We point the name at your site.
It is not a setting in your panel.
Email support@lookoutridgeit.com. Getting support says what to put in the message.
Page settings
The first card on the screen.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Page title | The browser tab, and the title search engines show. |
| Page description | The short blurb under that title, in search and in link previews. |
| Theme override | Gives this one page its own color palette. |
| Color mode override | Use site setting, Light, or Dark. |
| Subdomain | Leave it empty. It does nothing yet. |
Leave Theme override on Use site theme unless the bio page needs to look different from the rest of your website. The palette names are the same ones you see on Choose your colors.
Sections
Every part of the page is a section. There are seven types.
Under Add section, click the type you want. It is added to the bottom. You can have 20 sections on the page, and more than one of the same type.
To move one, drag it by the grip on its left. Or click Move up or Move down.
Warning
Remove takes the section away, and everything typed into it. The panel asks you to confirm first.
Nothing is gone for good until you click Save. If you remove one by mistake, reload the page in your browser without saving. The section comes back.
Logo
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Logo image | The picture at the top. Pick one from your Media library. |
| Alt text | What a screen reader says in place of the picture. |
| Shape | Square (rounded corners) or Circle. |
Leave Logo image empty and your site name shows as plain text instead. Either way, the logo links back to your website.
Banner
A wide picture, further down the page.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Banner image | The picture. |
| Caption | A line of text under it. |
| Link | Optional. Makes the banner clickable. |
Text
A block of writing.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Heading | Optional. A title above the writing. |
| Text | The writing itself. |
A blank line starts a new paragraph. To add a link, type it like this:
[Our candle story](https://pineandwick.example/story)
A plain web address works too, as long as it starts with https://.
Contact
Rows of ways to reach you. Up to 12. Click Add row for each one.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Heading | Optional. A title above the section. |
| Type | Phone, Text message, Email, WhatsApp, Address, or Link. |
| Label | Optional. Shown instead of the raw value. |
| Value | The number, the address, or the web address. |
For Pine and Wick Candle Co., a phone row could read:
- Type: Phone
- Label: Call the shop
- Value: 555-0134
A visitor taps that row and their phone dials.
Links
The stack of cards that does most of the work. Up to 30. Click Add link.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Heading | Optional. A title above the section. |
| Label | The wording on the card. |
| URL | Where the card goes. |
| Description | Optional. A short line under the label. |
| Thumbnail | Optional. A small picture on the card. |
| Image caption | Optional. Also the picture’s alt text. |
A row with no label yet shows as Untitled link in the list. That is only in the panel, and it is your cue to go back and name it.
Social
A row of icons. Up to 30. Click Add profile.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Heading | Optional. A title above the section. |
| Platform | Which app the icon is for. |
| Handle | Handle like @acme, or paste the full profile URL. |
| Link label | Optional. Defaults to the platform name. |
There are 24 to choose from: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X (Twitter), Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, Snapchat, Twitch, Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, GitHub, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Substack, Patreon, Etsy, Yelp, Nextdoor and Google Business Profile.
Google Business Profile has no handle to guess from. Paste the full web address for that one.
Newsletter
A box where a visitor types an email address to join your mailing list.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Heading | The wording above the box. |
| Text | Optional. Shown above the field. |
| Button label | The wording on the button. Starts as Subscribe. |
| Success message | What they read once they have joined. |
This section only holds the wording. Where the signups go is set in Newsletter, under Plugins, then Newsletter. One provider serves every signup form on your website, this page included.
Until a provider is chosen there, the newsletter section shows nothing on your bio page.
The Newsletter provider card at the bottom of this screen says the same. There is nothing to fill in on it.
Saving
Click Save. You get a message reading Bio page saved.
There is no publish step here. This is a settings screen, so your change is
live on /bio right away.
If someone else saved this screen after you opened it, your save stops. A note says so, and your work stays on screen. Click Save again to put yours live and replace theirs, or Discard to load theirs instead.
The footer
Every bio page ends with the same three lines, and you cannot change them:
- a link back to your website
- a copyright line with the year and your site name
- Powered by Lookout Ridge IT
Tip
Put your /bio address in the website field of your Instagram, Facebook and
TikTok profiles. That is the whole point of the page. One link in each
profile, and every one of them lands here.
